Welcome Mark Scheller our new NB Director!

It is a joy to introduce myself to you. Lets Start with I am Mark Scheller of Columbiana.
My story begins on a Military base in Wiesbaden Germany and from there I got to experience military relocation on a steady basis until I was in the Fourth grade and my family got established firmly in Northeast, Ohio. From that time until now, minus a wild side stint in California for a few years, I have been a dedicated Ohio boy. My childhood and teen years are dotted with very average high school grades, the completion of my Eagle scout award, and three trips to the U.S. Olympic swimming time trials (no I never made it to the big party). College for me resulted in multiple Master’s degrees in both Business and Education which corresponds with my two careers. My working career began in Retail and Retail management where I had the joy of running stores for both Macy’s in San Diego and Dillard’s in Ohio. Having met the love of my life, Beth Altomare – the last name has since changed, when I returned to Ohio and then being blessed with our two boys and a girl shortly after our marriage, we decided retail was not a good plan for being an active and involved Father and Husband. My second career and real passion in life was Teaching with Heartland Christian and working in our Churches Youth Ministry. Seventeen years and multiple shoulder and knee surgeries later the need to rediscover my placement within my passion arose and in the best possible way all things worked out perfectly connecting myself with the Way Station and the blessing this opportunity brings. I am still that young spirit with an open mind, trapped in an aging and beaten on body, looking forward to exploring this journey with our young men and the amazing people that come through our doors at The Way Station every day.
