Day Camp Summer 2025

Location:
First Presbyterian Church
28 East Park Ave Columbiana, OH 44408
*Drop off at Walnut Alley Entrance

Program Requirements: ​
Must reside in Columbiana County 
Be a female in 5th through 12th grade
*Free & No Prior Registration Required

What will a day at GLOW look like?
9:25 - 9:35 am ​
Girls arrive, sign-in, & put phone in "jail" for duration of GLOW

9:35 - 10:00 am
Camp Songs & Skits, Review Rules, Daily Affirmations, & Announcements

10:00 am - 2:00 pm
In grade groups girls will rotate with leader through sessions of Crafts, Games, Lesson, Journals & Reflection, and Lunch

2:00 - 2:30 pm
Mixed Group Closing Activity

What lesson topics will be covered? 
Lessons are interactive and taught at an age-appropriate level, if you have questions regarding any topic please reach out. 

5th Grade:
Self-Esteem, Self-Talk/Growth Mindset, Friendship, Sign Language, Nutrition & Cooking Basics,   Reproductive Anatomy, Puberty, Managing Your Period, Boundaries, Reproduction Basics (define "sexual intercourse" within context of human reproduction, describe what cells are involved, etc.), STD Basics

6th Grade: 
Self-Esteem, Gender Roles, Sign Language, Nutrition & Cooking Basics, Boundaries, Reproductive Anatomy, Effective Communication, More Than Friends, Liking vs Loving, Body Image, Consent

7th & 8th Grade:
Self-Esteem, Healthy Relationships, Effective Communication, Texting, Breaking Up, How to Talk Boundaries,
Reproduction Basics, Birth Control, Sign Language, Nutrition & Cooking Basics, Trafficking & Harassment

9th - 12th Grade
(we teach from a  9th & 10th grade level with considerations to any older girls given most girls are 9th & 10th)
Self-Esteem, Healthy Relationships, Communication, Decision Making, Sign Language, Nutrition & Cooking Basics, Sexual Decision Making, Pregnancy, STDs, Birth Control, Sexting

What is GLOW?

About Us:
GLOW is a free program developed for Columbiana County girls entering 5th-12th. 

Primary Objective & Goals:
We are a pregnancy prevention program that aims to increase girls' sense of self-esteem, reliance, and expression to encourage investment in their personal development and goals. We believe girls who know themselves, believe in themselves, and can express what they want make safer and healthier choices.  

Through:
Hands on activities, education, mentorship, group discussion, journaling, art & crafts, and games. We want to give girls opportunities to develop their self-esteem, self-expression, and self-reliance.
