What is GLOW?
About Us:
GLOW is a free pregnancy prevention program developed for Columbiana County girls entering 5th-12th in the fall. Funded by CCJFS!
Primary Objective & Goals:
Glow is a safe place for girls to be loved, cared for, and valued for who they are; a place for them to discover their worth and potential; to give them a place to belong and help them to dream and achieve their goals in life; to develop a support system (including partnering with parents/guardians if able through "Parent Connection Meetings") as well as developing healthy friendships among their peers!
Through:
Hands on activities, mentorship, group discussion, journaling, art & crafts, and games.
School Year Programming:
Glow is a pregnancy prevention program funded by CCJFS. Our focus is on helping girls build their self-esteem and dream of a future. At our East Liverpool chapter, we provide a faith-based perspective as we believe our worth and value is so clearly defined and rooted in Christ. (No one is required to participate in any faith-based activities. If this is a concern, please talk to Tammy, Director or Becky, Program Manager.) We also provide age-appropriate lessons specific to pregnancy prevention or reproductive health twice a year. This information will be provided to parents ahead of time. If this is a concern, please talk to Tammy or Becky.
Our school year curriculum is titled, Esteem Designz and includes the following topics: Discovering Who You Are #You Are More Than Enough, Strength in the Struggle #Life Can Be Tough, But So Are You/Grow Through What We Go Through, Choose Your Focus #Look for the Light/Remember Who/Whose You Are, Experiencing the Gift of Giving #Uplifting Self By Uplifting Others/We are All In this Together, Stop and Celebrate #Remember What is Important/Every Little Step Counts! We will also have a Fall Flannel night with dads and a special time with moms in the spring. Follow the link on this web page to get signed up!
