Side by Side is a 1.5-hour training seminar loosely patterned after Ruby Payne’s book, “Bridges out of Poverty.” Participants who attend the class learn to understand and embrace our differences and celebrate our commonalities.
Through dynamic speaking and hands-on exercises, Side by Side removes the fear of stepping out of one’s comfort zone and stepping in to make a difference. When you begin to understand another’s perspective and hear real-life stories of difficulties and overcoming those difficulties, you can’t help but be inspired. The Way Station offers the Side by Side Workshop at any of our locations or we can bring the program to your location always at no cost. If you work with individuals in poverty or your church or community group would like to participate in this training, just let us know. Our trained volunteers will happily come to you. |
